Minister to Visit 2019 Food Festival

Brecon Beacons Food Festival will host Lesley Griffiths, the Minister for Environment, Energy and Rural Affairs again on 5th October following her first visit in 2018. Lesley was impressed with the festival and its initiatives which included the ‘Education Corner’ dedicated to training organisations across the food drink and hospitality sector.

Once again, the event is being supported by the Welsh Government’s Food and Drink Division. Event organiser, Andrew Powell is delighted to have another special guest visiting the Food Festival this year commenting, “The festival is very honoured to be visited by Lesley Griffiths who will see at first hand the superb range of food and drink companies from the local area. We are grateful for the financial help given to the festival from the Welsh Government’s Strategic Business Growth Grant Scheme and very proud that the festival produces such a strong platform to showcase Welsh food and drink to 1000’s of visitors.”

Event Promotor, Joe Aldworth added, “Brecon Beacons Food Festival’s core values align with those of the Welsh Government. We are proud to promote and showcase some of the best local food and drink producers in Wales and the local area. As well as producers we have celebrity and local chef visitors demonstrating delicious culinary masterpieces throughout the day. Alongside entertainment and the ‘Education Corner’, the event has something for everyone, and we are hopeful of a record attendance at this year’s event.”

The Brecon Beacons Food Festival continues with its forward-thinking initiatives in 2019 with a new Park and Ride facility and working with the Woodland Trust providing at least 500 trees to be planted offsetting some of the carbon footprint created by the festival and its visitors.
