Brecon Beacons Food Festival is delighted to announce the support of the first title sponsor for the 2023 event. Beacon Foods have already committed to supporting the event for another year, taking the biggest of 3 sponsorship packages on offer.

Event Organiser, Andrew Powell said “To have Beacon Foods on board again this year is brilliant. Their continued support is vital to ensuring the event can run as costs increase and our primary funding source not available this year from the Welsh Government.

“This year we are having to work harder than ever to raise the required budget to ensure the Food Festival is a success. The funds give us the opportunity to cover running costs and add additional funds to our marketing activities.

“I’d encourage any local businesses or organisations to get in touch if they are interested in supporting the event. Each year we are keen to build more mutually beneficial relationships and we have a great range of sponsorship packages available this year.”

Finance Director of Beacon Foods, Jeff Davies added, “Beacon Foods are delighted to be a main sponsor again this year. The festival last year was a big success and a great day out for the whole family. Congratulations to the organisers and best wishes for another successful festival this year.”

Brecon Beacons Food Festival is in its 26th year and will be held on Saturday 3rd June, from 9.30am, in Brecon Indoor Market. The event promises to be a fantastic showcase of delicious local food and drink produce, entertainment and more.

Brecon Beacons Food Festival due to be held on Saturday 3rd October 2020 at Brecon’s Market Hall is postponed.
Event Organiser, Andrew Powell has sent a letter to the exhibitors of this event telling them of his plans

“Dear exhibitor
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we’re getting in touch to let you know that Brecon Beacons Food Festival is going to be postponed until hopefully between December and February.
As you may well be aware, the government has called on the public to stop gathering to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, and so it wouldn’t be responsible for us to go ahead with the event at this time. We hope you can join us at the food festival on the rearranged date between December and February.
We’ll keep you posted if anything changes, and please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or concerns:
Andrew Powell 07779012019
Stay safe, and I will be in touch with more information soon.”

Many people were looking forward to the 22nd annual Brecon Beacons Food Festival planned for Saturday 3rd October in Brecon’s Market Hall to enjoy delicious food and drink from over 70 local producers.
Event organiser, Andrew Powell said “I enjoy organising such a popular event showcasing and selling regional foods as well as promoting the beautiful town of Brecon. I have a passion for food and love to bring like-minded people together to enjoy this annual event, which is why postponing the event is such a blow. But I still want to support the producers that have worked with me over the years and so are thinking of an event at the end of the year or very early next year dependant on government restrictions at the time.
In the meantime Andrew has been using social media to promote the exhibitors across the Brecon Beacons Food festival Facebook page”

Brecon Beacons Food Festival will host Lesley Griffiths, the Minister for Environment, Energy and Rural Affairs again on 5th October following her first visit in 2018. Lesley was impressed with the festival and its initiatives which included the ‘Education Corner’ dedicated to training organisations across the food drink and hospitality sector.

Once again, the event is being supported by the Welsh Government’s Food and Drink Division. Event organiser, Andrew Powell is delighted to have another special guest visiting the Food Festival this year commenting, “The festival is very honoured to be visited by Lesley Griffiths who will see at first hand the superb range of food and drink companies from the local area. We are grateful for the financial help given to the festival from the Welsh Government’s Strategic Business Growth Grant Scheme and very proud that the festival produces such a strong platform to showcase Welsh food and drink to 1000’s of visitors.”

Event Promotor, Joe Aldworth added, “Brecon Beacons Food Festival’s core values align with those of the Welsh Government. We are proud to promote and showcase some of the best local food and drink producers in Wales and the local area. As well as producers we have celebrity and local chef visitors demonstrating delicious culinary masterpieces throughout the day. Alongside entertainment and the ‘Education Corner’, the event has something for everyone, and we are hopeful of a record attendance at this year’s event.”

The Brecon Beacons Food Festival continues with its forward-thinking initiatives in 2019 with a new Park and Ride facility and working with the Woodland Trust providing at least 500 trees to be planted offsetting some of the carbon footprint created by the festival and its visitors.

Brecon Beacons Food Festival is delighted to announce that Gwernyfed RFC Mini and Junior teams will be helping to run this year’s new, free park and ride facility. The Food Festival, which is also free for the public to attend, will be held in Brecon Market Hall on Saturday 5th October.

Event Organiser, Andrew Powell said “Events need manpower to run and who better than the energetic, young teams of Gwernyfed Rugby Club. This new relationship will ensure the new park and ride facility runs smoothly as well as giving an opportunity for the local children to raise funds for their teams.

“Event sponsors Brecon Chamber of Trade and Brecon Car Hire have contributed the funds and facilities to make this exciting new service possible. With thousands of visitors expected at this year’s Food Festival we wanted to make easy, free parking available as well as lessen the congestion within the town centre.

“The parking will be available at Brecon Cattle Market on Warren Road (postcode LD3 8EX) with regular busses taking visitors to and from Brecon Market Hall in the centre of town. Brecon Cattle Market offers a large space for parking and is easily accessible from the Brecon bypass. The service will run for the full duration of the event, from 10am until 4pm.”

“Again, I would like to thank all of our sponsors of this year’s Food Festival including Castell Howell, Specsavers Brecon, Brecon Chamber of Trade and Brecon Car Hire for making this event possible. We have a fantastic line up of food and drink exhibitors, special guests, chef demonstrations and more. I hope to see you there on Saturday 5th October!

Brecon Beacons Food Festival is excited to announce this year’s plans to spruce up its green credentials and lessen its impact on the environment. Working with the Woodland Trust and the Brecon Beacons Sustainable Development Team, the Brecon Beacons Food Festival is to give away a minimum of 500 trees at this year’s event to offset its carbon footprint.

Event Organiser, Andrew Powell said “We attract thousands of visitors each year and wondered how we could lessen our impact on the environment. It’s really exciting to team up with the Woodland Trust by offering free trees at this year’s event for visitors to plant at home.

“Our mission is to promote locally produced food and drink without air miles and mass production credentials, so it makes sense for us to pair this with such a positive, environmentally friendly campaign. I think it’s a really nice gift for hundreds of visitors to go away and a positive message to share with visitors.

“We’ve got a very exciting festival planned this year with lots of new additions and improvements including our park and ride facility. This free service will offer parking at Brecon Cattle Market on Warren Road (postcode LD3 8EX) with regular busses taking visitors to and from Brecon Market Hall in the centre of town. Brecon Cattle Market offers a large space for parking and is easily accessible from the Brecon bypass.

“Exhibitor spaces filled over six months ago which shows the demand for food and drink producers to be part of Brecon Beacons Food Festival. We have some exciting celebrity guests, cooking demonstrations and our popular education corner again this year which promises to be a fantastic day for all who attend.”

Brecon Beacons Food Festival is excited to announce a free park and ride service to visitors of this year’s event. The Food Festival, which is also free for the public to attend, will be held in Brecon Market Hall on Saturday 5thOctober.

Event Organiser, Andrew Powell said “I am delighted to offer this exciting new park and ride service to everyone coming along to this year’s event. A big thank you to Brecon Chamber of Trade and Brecon Motors for supporting the logistics and cost of setting up this invaluable service.

“Brecon Beacons Food Festival attracts thousands of visitors each year and to have a solution like this to make parking easier, ensure less traffic congestion in the centre of Brecon and free to the public is a great addition to the event. The service will run for the full duration of the event, from 10am until 4pm.

“This year’s event promises to be the best yet including fully booked exhibitor spaces, celebrity guests and chefs. One of our special guests is ITV’s weather and TV presenter, Ruth Wignall. Ruth will be showing us her prowess in charge of the hot plate during a variety of demonstrations throughout the day. As part of the Coast and Country team she often shares many environmental and agricultural stories from around Wales, which ties in nicely with the values we promote through Brecon Beacons Food Festival.”
